Cold Steel Bar Custom Shapes
Manufactured to Your Specifications
Charter Wire can help you save time and money from the secondary machining process with cold rolled steel shapes customized for your desired profile and mechanical properties. In fact, we’ve developed over 2,000 unique custom cold rolled steel shapes since our inception in 1936. We engineer special tooling in-house to shape steel rod into finished wire or bar, with tight manufacturing tolerances to +/- 0.001” (+/- 0.025 mm).
Through the cold rolling process we are also able to enhance the mechanical properties of the wire rod to fit your application. Tap into our decades of technical expertise and consult with our experts to achieve the precise amount of tensile strength, hardness, ductility, and elongation for your product and application.
Superior Finish and Treatment Options
Cold rolling steel results in the smoothest and highest-quality finish of any shaping process. As the steel passes through our rolling mills and is mechanically worked to its final shape, it gains a fine, polished look across its entire surface.
As part of the process, Charter offers value-added services to further customize your product. This includes annealing to provide custom tempers as well as custom packaging in either oscillate coils or cut-to-length bars to ensure your wire or bar product is a perfect fit for your precise needs.
